Both began singing in church at early ages, with family
and friends playing a strong role in their developing
careers. Their musical tastes were highly influenced by
the likes of Boyz II Men, George Michael, Marvin Gaye,
Brandy, Michael McDonald, and the Bee Gees.Although
the guys have quite a number of similarities, it’s their
differences that make for both their distinct look and
sound. Born in Ontario, Canada, J’s shyness was quickly
overcome by his strong desire to inspire others with
music just as he had been inspired. As the thoughtful,
laid-back half of the group, J likes spending time making
music in his Toronto studio and sharing time with the
ladies.

Travis, on the other hand, hails from Des Moines, Iowa
and has more of an in-your-face, rock-star quality. With
two years together of solid music-making, J and Travis
have discovered a lot about each other, especially when
talking about musical influences.Considering Iowa isn’t
exactly a hotbed of entertainment, Travis’ relentlessness
to succeed has taken him to Atlanta, Nashville, Orlando,
Vegas, and now New York in the past 4 years in pursuit
of his musical goals. His vocal range is matched only by
his diverse range of musical influences.

Their unique personalities and vocal styles create an
eclectic sound, which has an extreme amount of pop
appeal, with a considerable helping of rock and a heavy
dose of R&B flavor. But despite their differences, J &
Travis’s blend of music has put them in a class all to
themselves.
